BOATRIGHT FAMILY PRIMARY DOCUMENTS

THIS INDENTURE made this 27th day of July One Thousand Eight Hundred One between Thomas 
Holt & Wm Adams both of the County of Bedford, of the one part, and William Boatwright 
of the County aforesaid, the other part, Witnesseth that the said Thomas Holt & William 
Adams for and in consideration of the sum of thirty pounds current money of Virginia to 
them in hand paid the receipt whereof they the said Thomas Holt & William Adams doth 
hereby acknowledge hath bargained & sold do by these presents Bar-gain Sell alien(?) of 
and Confirm unto him the said William Botewright his heirs and assigns forever one certain 
tract or parcel of land containing twelve acres be the same more or less situate in 
Bedford County and lying on the West side of Lick Run/a North branch of Otter River and 
bounded as followeth to wit, Beginning at said Boatwrights Corner thence White Oak thence 
new lines N 26E 46 poles to pointers N ? SE 49 poles to a small white oak S 67E 40 poles 
to pointers on said Boatwrights line thence along his lines N 83W  38 poles to a stump N 
56W three (?) poles to a red oak & thence S 60W 81 poles to the first Station together 
with all and every of the appurtenances to have and to hold the above mentioned land and 
its appurtenances unto him the said Wm Boatwright his heirs & assigns forever as an estate 
in fee simple and they the said Thomas Holt & William Adams doth further covenant that they 
will forever Warrant and Defend the said land and its appurtenances from themselves their 
heirs and from all other persons whatsoever unto him the said Wm Boatwright his heirs and 
assigns forever.  In Witness whereof they the said Thos Holt and Wm Adams hath hereunto set 
their hands & seals the day & year first above written.
